Documentation Information:

You may choose one of the following options for documenting your professional development at the  2017 SeCO Science Symposium:

Option 1:  Receive a Professional Contact Hours Certificate for the hours you attend the symposium. (Session 1 = 3 hours, Session 2 = 1.5 hours, Session 3 = 3 hours, All 3 sessions = 7.5 hours) You can use the certificate to submit to CDE for renewing your teacher license. There is a possibility that your district may also accept this documentation, but often this requires prior approval and may involve fees. YOU would need to pursue this in advance and on your own as each district has different policies. To receive the contact hours certificate, you must attend and actively participate in the entire workshop(s).

NOTE:  If you choose this option, you may NOT request college credit through CSM.

OPTION 2:   College Credit - 0.5 semester credits of Colorado School of Mines Teacher Enhancement Graduate Level,  Non-degree, Relicensure Credit for a modest fee [$40]. For 0.5 semesters of college credit with a grade of B you must attend all 7.5 hours (Sessions 1, 2, and 3) and be an active participant in each session. For a letter grade of an A, you must complete a reflective journal which consists of your notes from each session you attend plus the insights you gained. You will receive and fill out the paperwork at the end of the SeCO Science Symposium on April 8th and must include a check made out to Colorado School of Mines – they do not accept credit cards. The paperwork for the course will be submitted in May 2017 (So - the check may be post-dated for May 15, 2017). Transcripts from CSM showing this course (called 2016/2017 Peak Area Leadership in Science Hub Meetings) will NOT be available until late July 2017 and can be ordered (for $10 per copy) at http://te.csmspace.com/register.php. [If you have participated in or plan to participate in any other PALS Hub meetings for this year (2016-2017) this event can be added to your other meetings.]
