The 2021 Northern Colorado Science Implementation Institute is a collaborative effort between the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), the Colorado Science Education Network (CSEN), and the Colorado Association of Science Teachers (CAST) to support districts, schools, and teachers across the state in their transition to the new Colorado Standards for Science. We are partnering with surrounding districts to support this one-day learning experience.
At the implementation institutes, teachers and educators will deepen their understanding of the new science standards through interactive and engaging day-long virtual sessions led by expert facilitators. Participants can join one of three learning groups for the day, each one tailored to support different levels of experience with the standards. Participants can select from one of the following strands when registering:
Registration is capped at 150 educators per institute. Participating educators will be eligible to receive up to 8 hours towards recertification, and have the opportunity to network with peers and gain resources to support their work. Educators will need to complete the survey and a learning reflection to receive credit. For questions, please contact, CDE Science Content Specialist, Maya M. Garcia via email at Garcia_Maya@cde.state.co.us.
