For our second year of the Resilient Futures Teacher Workshop, we are opening the in-person conference-style teacher professional development workshop to outside presenters. The workshop aims to create an engaging space where secondary teachers can explore new and existing climate literacy curricula, hear insights directly from NOAA and CIRES climate scientists, and exchange ideas for implementing the Colorado Seal of Climate Literacy.

We are seeking presenters to lead 50-minute sessions.

Apply by Sunday February 15th.

  • Benji Billman: a mathematics teacher who reframes mathematics as a practical application for the everyday person.
  • Dr. Vik Bebarta: Chair of Emergency Medicine at Anschutz who focuses on how innovations in military medicine can be applied to improve patient care.

Inquiry Hub: Science at its Peak

In these free workshops exclusively for CO teachers, we will explore the Colorado Academic Standards for science and consider strategies to implement aligned instruction. Together, we will investigate:

  • What are the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) for science?
  • How can instruction aligned to CAS support student learning?
  • What does it look like to organize CAS aligned instruction around phenomena?
  • What resources are available for me to implement CAS in my classroom?
Each workshop is 6 hours.
